Unimicron Sponsors the 8th "Eco Echo Award" to Protect Taiwan's Biodiversity

Since 2018, Unimicron has responded to the "Eco Echo Award" initiated by UMC for five years to promote environmental biodiversity and species restoration, and to enhance the concept of environmental protection in order to fulfill corporate social responsibility. We hope that through the "Eco Echo Award" interactive platform, scholars, experts, environmentalists, and enterprises could share resources and protect the environment.

In response to UMC's initial goal of protecting the environment, Unimicron continues to support the "Eco Echo Award" initiative, which focuses on biodiversity, species restoration, climate change, and circular economy, and has donated a total of NT$1.25 million over the past five years in the hope that through the spirit and action of environmental protection, we can continue to promote the initiative, and work together to protect the diverse ecological environments and precious flora and fauna. The Award Ceremony was held on November 24, 2023, with a total of NT$4 million awarded to the winners, and UMC presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Unimicron for being the most solid backing for Taiwan's eco-sustainability.

The theme of the 8th Green Award included projects related to "Ecological Conservation" or "Green Innovation". There were 13 outstanding proposals, which were selected from hundreds of submissions after professional evaluation and numerous discussions. The winning projects covered topics such as the conservation of Taiwan's important wild bird habitats, the management of stray dogs, as well as the promotion of smart agriculture and the recycling of agricultural waste, linking up the support and response of various stakeholders to protect Taiwan's ecosystems.
