YM Plant ESG Guanxin Algal Reef Environmental Protection

This event organized the protection of the Guanxin Algal Reefs environment and coastal clean-up with S3 plant. It is hoped that by building up understanding of algae reefs, especially Unimicron YM Factory is for the local technology industry, and it is very important for treasuring for the land. Therefore, through this event, we will promote the concept of environmental protection and sustainability, and implement it in our daily life. We encourage colleagues to exert their influence, drive family and friends around us, expand the village, and practice environmental protection actions together, so that the seeds of environmental protection awareness can be planted in YM Factory strongly.

"Guanxin Algal Reefs Ecosystem Wildlife Refuge" was established in 2014 as a wall-less classroom. The Guanxin Algal Reefs, the biggest and most complete algal reefs in Taiwan. Algal reefs are organic rocky structures formed by crustose coralline algae through the processes of slow accumulation and deposition of calcium carbonate, and it takes about 10 years to form a one-centimeter-high reef. To retain the natural treasure that have been in existence for over 4,000 years, we invited colleagues from Yangmei Factory and S3,the "Saving Taoyuan's Algal Reefs" along the shoreline, calling attention to the need for algal reef conservation.

This event is learned about algae reefs and coastal clean-up to collect garbage and clean the beach together. This is not only a practical action, but also arouses the public's awareness of environmental protection. Through the actual actions of the participants, we hope that more people will realize the importance of marine protection and leave Taiwan's beautiful and rich natural environment to the next generation.
