2023 Local Community Wellness Program - Part 1 Care for the disadvantaged elderly

With steady operation and social responsibility, Unimicron focuses on the four main philosophies of social welfare: “Neighborhood Care”, ”Care for the Disadvantaged”, ”Inject Educational Resources”, and “Environmental Protection”. Through companionship, environmental cleaning, after-school programs, and donations, we care for community residents, the elderly, young students, and disadvantaged families of foreign spouses, bringing love to the community.

Taiwan is becoming a super-aged society by 2025, faster than Japan, due to the impact of Sub-replacement Fertility and aging. We collaborated with the "Taoyuan Community Services Care Association" since 2022, a long-standing community organization, to promote a three-part family integrity program, including "Part I - Care for the disadvantaged elderly ", "Part II - Child and Youth Development Program", and "Part III - Care for Disadvantaged Families of Foreign Spouses".

To extend the services in 2022, there are 18 volunteers and 73.5 hours of service this year. Before the service, the volunteers participated in volunteer courses again to strengthen service skills, and on April 28th, we held a "Care Activity" at the Bianzhouli Activity Center in Taoyuan with "Taoyuan Community Services Care Association", spread love and warm to 70 elderly by dancing, singing and handicraft project, to strengthen the interaction of the elderly and create a healthy life circle.

After the volunteer program, we held a meeting to share our experiences of volunteer services. Through reflection, we can strengthen our service skills in the future and share the enthusiasm to each other and build a strong foundation for society through common good.

Volunteer Sharing 1: I graduated from Department of Social Work, but after I started working full-time, I had fewer chances to join volunteer program. This is my first time participating in a company-sponsored volunteer program. I am grateful to Unimicron for providing me with this chance to get back the feeling of being engaged in community service.

Volunteer 2: I was happy to see the elderly who served last year. Although the elderly forgot about me, I didn't forget the smiles of them! I hope I can participate again next year.
