Local Community Wellness Program - Part 1 Care for the disadvantaged elderly

Unimicron adheres to the concept of stable operation and fulfills its social responsibility. It has been deeply involved in the Taoyuan area for a long time. Through a variety of channels, we understand the needs of the local community and take practical actions such as companionship, environmental cleanup, classroom tutoring, material delivery, and factory fundraising to care for community residents, seniors, young students, and disadvantaged families of foreign spouses, spreading love to every corner of the community.

In 2022, we collaborated with the "Taoyuan Community Services Care Association", a long-standing community organization, to promote a three-part family integrity program, including "Part I - Care for the disadvantaged elderly ", "Part II - Child and Youth Development Program", and "Part III - Care for Disadvantaged Families of Foreign Spouses".

Through the long-term observation and interaction of the association, it is known that under the influence of advanced age and low birthrate, disadvantaged elderls living alone also lacks interpersonal interaction decreased memory and judgment, and low rates of social participation; therefore, what elderly need are listening and companionship.

To provide the disadvantaged elderly with the care they need, we are working with the "Taoyuan Community Services Care Association" to promote the " Part I - Care for the disadvantaged elderly", which organizes care activities for the elderly through regular and irregular volunteer visits, so that the elderly can receive more care and help them establish a healthy life circle with silver hair.

On March 15, Shin Shin Electronics volunteers participated in a volunteer course to learn about volunteer services and the skills required to be a volunteer and learned the skills of interactive companionship through practical exercises. The program is designed to strengthen the interaction between the elderly and others by encouraging them to participate in interactive classes such as singing, handicrafts, and rhythmic exercises.

After the volunteer program, we held a meeting to review what could be improved in the volunteer program to strengthen the volunteer service in the future and to share the experience of today's event with each other.

In the future, Unimicron will continually explore urgent social issues through the three main axes of "Planet, People, and Performance" and the seven commitments to fulfill SDG 3 and SDG 17 and create sustainable value.
