Unimicron Deepening Roots in Taiwan, Focusing on Globalization, and Embracing Future Challenges
On the eve of Unimicron’s 20th anniversary, we reminisce our diligent efforts for every challenge in the past, while focusing on TQM (total quality management) culture and building great future for our customers, shareholders & employees.
The first Decade: Paving the road to success
During our first decade, Unimicron implemented TQM culture across the organization, strengthened customer service, trained and educated employees, developed new technologies, and constructed High Density Interconnect (HDI) and IC Carrier manufacturing facilities. Furthermore, we demonstrated continued growth, enhanced our global manufacturing facilities, which in turn resulted in Unimicron’s growth from a small “unknown” company, to one of the most respected global PCB suppliers.
The Second Decade: Improving Global Competitiveness
Navigating Unimicron out of the difficult decade which included 2001 dot.com bubble and 2008-2009 global financial meltdown, our management team took the following concrete steps: (a) employee empowerment, (b) internal consolidation, and (c) external merger and acquisitions. Aforementioned steps in conjunction with our collective intellectual resources, enhanced quality and cost effectiveness, resulting in improved competitiveness. Additionally, through this difficult decade, we continued to increase market share and grow our business, win our customers’ confidence AND win the National Quality Award!
Future Outlook: “Built to Last”
Twenty first century emphasizes globalization & international harmony with blurred & possibly invisible international boundaries. At Unimicron, we will rely on our talent and resources to further improve our global competitiveness. On the eve of the third decade, we are pleased to incorporate PPT team into the Unimicron family. Through this merger, we can enhance our product offerings, increase our manufacturing capacity and better position our company to meet customer’s demands. We look forward to our continued market leadership.
To enhance our corporate social responsibility in 2009, we incorporated 3P philosophy (People, Planet, and Performance). By forming an environmental safety committee, we strive towards the objective of an environmentally conscious business entity. In future, we will adopt 3R methodology (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle). We plan to reduce CO2 and commit to promote green environment and society.
As the renowned management consultant, Peter Drucker once said: The best way to predict the future is to create it.”We at Unimicron intend to create our future!
Happy Twentieth birthday to Unimicron, “Built to Last”!
